1  What we are, and what we are not

We publish guidance about pest problems in Cobb County and the towns around it, and we connect homeowners with licensed companies that do the work. That is the whole business.

• We do not hold a Georgia structural pest control license. We employ no technicians and we own no trucks.
• Nobody from this site will come to your house. We do not inspect properties, we do not treat them, and we do not write proposals.
• We are not owned by or operated by a pest control company, and we are not any company’s marketing department.
• We are not a review platform. Nothing here is a customer rating, and we do not rank companies against each other.

The companies you are connected with are independent businesses. They set their own terms, write their own warranties and carry their own license. Anything they tell you, they are responsible for. Anything we tell you, we are.

2  What happens to your details

When you fill in a form you give us your name, a phone number, your city, what you are seeing, and an email address if you want to. Here is exactly where that goes.

• It comes to us first. A person reads it.
• It goes to one licensed independent company that works your city. One. We do not hand your number to four operators and let them race you, and we do not sell it on to a lead broker.
• That company contacts you directly. From that point you are dealing with them, under their terms, and they are the ones who will come to the house.
• We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not send you anything you did not ask for.
• We keep your message so we can follow up if something goes wrong with the connection. Ask us to delete it and it is deleted.

You are under no obligation at any point. You can take the inspection and hire somebody else, or do nothing at all. Several pages on this site end by telling you that you do not need anyone, because quite often you do not.

3  How we are paid

We may be paid a fee by the company when a connection is made through this site. You are never billed by us for anything.

• The fee does not change what you are charged. It is paid by the company out of its own side, and the terms you are offered are the terms you would be offered anyway.
• The fee is the same whichever company you end up with. That is on purpose. A fee that varied by operator would give us a reason to point you at whoever paid more.
• No company can buy a recommendation, a placement or a write-up, and no company can pay to have another one removed.
• No company reads a page before it goes up or has any say in what it says afterward.

4  Where our interests and yours could pull apart

We are paid when you make contact, which gives us a reason to want you to make contact. So, plainly: a good share of pest problems do not need anybody. Pulling mulch back off the brick, clearing a blocked crawl vent, tipping out standing water, trimming a limb off the roof, sealing a gap at a utility penetration — those are yours, and they are more effective than most of what gets sold on a first visit.

Where a licensed company is genuinely warranted — active termites, an animal in the attic, German cockroaches in a wall, anything structural — the pages say so, and then you can talk to a licensed local pro. Where it is not warranted, they say that too.

5  Corrections

Some of what is here will go stale before we catch it. If something is wrong, out of date, or stated more confidently than it deserves, tell us and we will fix it. The sources behind the writing, and the things this site will not publish, are set out in how we research what we publish.
